This novel reminds me of when I was about 9 years old, I sent a magazine coupon off to a Mystery Book Club with a dime and received 3 books. This novel reminds me of those type of books circa 1950's. It started off slow, but then it got better and I decided to finish it. All in all, an enjoyable read with a lot of twists, turns and surprises. A comfortable murder mystery but not normally my cup of tea. I may read this author again in the future when I want to take it easy and relax.

A good mystery with an ending that I couldn't figure out in the first 4 chapters. I like Max's attitude toward his in laws.
Another installment of a very fun series, featuring the return of Countess Lydia Ouspenska. Charlotte MacLeod is reliable, as always.
Loved the preceding books in this series, but this one has distracting comma splices in every paragraph. I quit halfway through.

Eoin McNamee has conjured, from beyond the grave, the doomed characters of his novel. Soulless death squad members who stalk Belfast in the wee hours. Abducting, mutilating, butchering dozens of innocent Catholic boys and men. Resurrection Man, is full of intelligence operatives, homosexual blackmail, too much amphetamine, the smell of stale whiskey, and ghoulish murder.
Incredibly well written account of a serial murder and his environment in blood stained Belfast during the 1980s.The author paints with words images of despair,decline and loneliness in a population torn by sectarian violence.This is not just a true crime novel.It has a poetic,lyrical quality that vivifies the inhumanity of its denizens.It literally pierces the "Heart Of Darkness". A keeper to be read and reflected upon.
Max and Sarah are very busy with their business, friends, and family. Max is recovering from a leg injury when he runs into an old friend and follows her to find out what she is doing. He and Sarah run into a robbery, family problems, and murder. The case in this book can be really complicated, but it is action-filled. It is sometimes hard to follow the story, yet really worth the read.
